Deleting a file

Hello.
I use Windows XP Home Edition. I have downloaded an
installation file from AOL. I have tried to delete it but
an error sign comes up saying " Cannot delete: It is being
used by another person or program. Close any programs that
might be using the file and try again." Ususally when this
happens, I would just restart my computer or (and) delete
the Temporary Internet Files, and so forth. However, even
after these two steps, the same error sign comes up. It
won't delete. I have already deleted a folder in the "My
Documents" folder that I believed was linked to this
installation file. However, it still said the same thing.
Any suggestions on how to delete this?
Thanks for your help.

from the start run menu, enter msconfig.exe
go to the last tab and select all items to not restart on
your next restart.
restart you computer.
delete the file and then re-enable all of the programs
and restart again.

this will allow the file to not be loaded into memory
when windows starts and allows you to delete it.
