Deleting a file

when i first got my computer 3 months ago i accidentally downloaded a file titled instant access, subsequently i am getting endless pop-ups advertising music and desktop downloads, even though i have pop-ups blocked on the google toolbar
The file is located in folder: c:\program files but when i try to delete it the following message comes up:" Error deleting file or folder. Cannot delete instant access:access is denied. make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." Could someone please tell me how to delete this program.

Right Click on the folder click properties and check that the file is not
read only.
if it is..uncheck it (in the box) then try deleting it.

Also go under administrator to have complete access to all files and folders

Hi

You could also try some of the spyware removal apps, like ad-aware, spybot
etc.

If those don't work, try booting into Safe Mode. While the computer is
starting up, press f8 until you get a menu, select Safe Mode. In this mode
none of the startup programs are running, so the file should not be in use.
You can also use msconfig (Start > Run > Msconfig) to disable startup
programs, and identify which application that is loading is doing this.....

Agreed; log in under the Administrator account in safe mode and run
Spybot/AdAware/virus scan, and if the folder persists, click Start > Run and
type "cmd" (without quotes). After the Command Prompt loads, open Task
Manager and close the explorer.exe task. At this point, navigate to the
folder you wish to delete in the Command window and try a "del
<foldername>". Now simply go back to Task Manager, click File > New Task,
and type in "explorer.exe". This should get you ready to go again; check to
see if the folder is truly deleted. HTH.
