I was hit with a bothersome pop-up adware. I bought
Symantec Internet protection and it found the crud and
told me which files to delete. I was able to delete all
but one. The adware seems to be gone but I want that
nasty dll (twaintec.dll) removed. Windows tells me it
cannot delete it. How do I remove it?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a scanner file . . . if you have a scanner I'd
leave it alone . . . if you don't have a scanner or just
really want to delete it, boot up in SAFE mode and try to
delete it from there . . . to boot in SAFE mode, tap-tap-
tap the F8 key (continuously) starting about 15 seconds
after powering the system on, before the Windows logo
comes up . . .

Good Luck !

Twaintec.dll is indeed malware. Here are some removal instructions:

it can't be deleted because it is in use. So if you are sure, r-click
it and rename - say changing the extension to .dlx

Reboot, it will then not be found, and not come into use, and you can
delete the renamed file
