Deleted Windows Components, I want them back!

I was trying to delete Windows Media Player, and accidently removed all the
windows components on the Add/Remove Windows Components list - I'd like them
back on my computer.

I've tried system restore, my computer cannot restore to any earlier points
- it just says it was unable to restore to an earlier point.

When I try adding the windows components via the system on the control panel
it says it needs file: 'cinfo.xml' from the Windows XP Home edition SP2 but
it cannot locate it, so it stops the setup process.

Can anyone help me?

Well, first things first: Windows Media Player is part of the operating
system and can't be deleted. But it's easy to make another player your
default media player.

It's easy to reinstall missing Windows components so long as you have a
Windows installation CD. If you don't, you may be able to reinstall the
missing components from your recovery CDs or recovery partition, but
you'll have to contact the computer manufacturer for instructions.

I have another quick question, since I have now deleted IE from my current
XP setup, if I download it from the microsoft website, will it work? What
about outlook express? Those were the only two programs I was really
concerned about. Well that and my games, no more minesweeper for me

Like Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express are
part of the operating system and cannot be deleted. If you tried to
delete them manually, by deleting individual files, then you've got some
work ahead of you:
