Hello-I deleted the user profile my wife was using on her
computerand created a new one for her. Unfortunatley all
her Outlook data disappeared. Is the old .pst still
around on the box... How can I recover from this
mistake?? She needs her calendar and contact data back.
Messages not as important but would be nice.

I really want to sleep in my own bed again! LOL Any help
would be appreciated.

She is running 2000 Pro- Outlook 2002...

Removing a profile does not remove the PST. It's still there. Just open it
in Outlook.

Should be, just do a search for .PST (Start | Find | Files or Folders)
and you should be able to locate it.

I think the OP may be actually talking about a Windows "profile" - hence a
user, in which case, unless he elected to retain files, the pst file is
almost certainly gone.

My IT Professional did the same thing to me on my
computer last year. Whe you delete a user profile, you
delete the .pst. I suggest that you relocate the .pst
file from the default location to a new directory, like
C:\OutlookData\. This should keep your precious data safe
from the likes of Windows.
