Deleted Records from a Table

I just deleted bunch or records from a tably by accident. Is there any way to
retrieve them from a back end? Or are they gone forever?
 
If no one had done ANYTHING else in the database, you might be able to pay a
profession recovery service to extract the data.

Otherwise how good is your most recent backup?
