Deleted record problem

A record appears with "#Deleted" in each field. I delete that record, close
the table, re-open the table and find the record is back again; I cannot
seem to get the record deleted and I don't know why "#Deleted" started
appearing in the first place.

I should also add that when the record is highlighted the following message
appears on the status bar:

Record in table Customers was deleted by another user.

That this happened is highly unlikely since the application and database is
used by only one user.

Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.

Have you Repaired your db? You should begin there.
