Deleted files coming back???

I found out that I have files that i did not download,so I deleted them.But
the next day when I switched on my computer,the files came back.I thought
there was spyware in my computer so i scanned for them and deleted the
spyware.But the files are still there.The files were not only in one folder
but many.What can I do???Please help!!Thanks!
 
Perhaps if you told us a little more about the files...file names would be a
great help in determining what they are. They would not happen to be named
"thumbs.db" would they?
