Deleted email recovery for OE 6.00.2800.1123

Hi,

Using OE 6.00.2800.1123 with W2KPro.

I've searched with no luck for freeware apps to recover emails I just
permanently deleted from my inbox; in error of course. :-(
The Inbox.dbx is backed up. Not even Pricelessware had one.
Is it possible to recover such emails?

If I knew which flags to search and change, I'd use a hex editor, but a
nice, easy app is my preference. :)

Thanks!
Dugie

Just to clarify, after the delete I didn't compact the folder before I made
a copy of the inbox.dbx, but I did receive about 5 new emails before the
backup..

Wow that looks like a great program, I'm trying it now.

Another similar one is:

http://www.mitec.cz/misctools.htm#OE

www.s2services.com - a data recovery freeware list.

Thanks for the suggestions. On my backup, I've tried both Outlook Express
Message Extractor and EmailRecovery OE 1.0.
Of 500+ messages, only about 160 show.

Maybe what Paul Pruitt states on his site http://www.s2services.com/ is
true:

"Please note: Honestly the commercial software and services is the route you
will sometimes have to take to recover your data. That's not to discount
the large number of high quality data recovery freeware generously given
away by developers that you can see here."

http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx - Only $5. It may extract
all messages from a DBX file. It used to be free...

from the ACF pages. . . the last freeware version.
