deleted doc help

I have inadvertently deleted a document produced in MS Word. If I perform a
system restore back to yesterday’s date will this recover the document?
If not, anybody got any ideas how to get it back, or is it gone forever!

Was the document saved before you the back-up you're proposing to restore
to?

Hi,
the documnet was created (and saved) a few weeks ago , and was stored on a
local shared drive in my office,
does that help?

System restore only restores system files and registry entries. Data files
are not affected. Such a restoration will not recover your document. If
however you have a true backup then restoring that would work - most backup
applications also allow the recovery of individual files.

You *may* be able to recover the document using file recovery / file
undelete software - but not likely if you have already run system restore

Hi,

I'm pretty sure a powerful data recovery tool such as Active@ undelete
or Uneraser (for DOS) should solve your problem. Theese are really
mighty instruments that were always capable of restoring mine lost
files and never corrupting them.
