I have Word 2007, and cannot figure out how to delete an existing document.
It used to be sooo easy, but now there does not seem to be any information
anywhere about how to do it. I've looked at previous answers to this
question, but all the answers seem so vague, like "go to Internet Explorer".
What does THAT mean? I just want the simple answer, step-by-step, on how to
delete.

In the File/Open or Save dialog box, you can highlight a closed
document and press the delete key. You can also right-click the
closed document and select delete.

Vista, Win XP - doesn't matter. Doesn't even matter if you're talking Word
95, Excel 2007, or photos of your pet Snuffles. Same process.

Is Snuffles a squirrel?

Could be. I call my squirrel "Mr Whiskers" or "that furry bird". He raids
the bird feeder out on my deck. My cats enjoy watching him nibbling on the
sunflower seeds.

My cat would have done more than watch him!

Mine are inside cats who wouldn't know what to do if they met Mr Whiskers
face-to-face. (If we could post photos here I could show you a photo of him
having lunch yesterday afternoon.)

Don't be so sure -- a small bird once got inside my back porch (in
Chicago, small apartment houses have wooden rear structures including
enclosed storage areas and stairs), and my dear, lethargic, elderly
cat stalked it, pounced, brought it down, and consumed it. It was
quite a shock.
