|
| Just make sure you have all the needed drivers for the computer
| before you take the plunge. More and more places have decided to
| delete their Win98 drivers or no longer provide versions of software
| that will run on Win98.
|
| I've been going through that with Hp, Intel and Zone Alarm, to name
| a few, in the last few days.
|
| The guy who used to supply me with all my oddball cables had some
| very wise advice, "If you want things to be easier to get working,
| don't have too great a difference in age between your hardware and
| the age of your software." He is gone now and thus wasn't able to
| keep me out of trouble this time, but I think I will modify his
| advice to add "and don't have too great a difference between the
| age of either and the current date on the calendar." That doesn't
| say you can't get it to work, but you may need to work harder.
|
| I finally found a book in the library with a CD with a version of
| ZoneAlarm that was just old enough to still support Win98. The
| drivers, that I'm still working on.
