Delete temp files?

I am looking in XP under C:/Documents and Settings/My Account/Local
Settings/Temp and Temporary Internet files.

Between the two there are 198 MB of data. Most of which are from May of 2004.

Is is safe to delete all these files?

Also, in the recent documents - these files can be deleted as well right?

Your temporary internet files folder should be regularly cleaned out. I use
a software application called Cleancache (www.buttuglysoftware.com) and set
tit to clean the history, cookies, temporary internet files. In the windows
options it will also clean recent documents, run history and the user temp
as well as window temp directory. You will find a link on the buttugly site
to a review on my own website that i did of this software. Take a look at it
and download the software (it is freeware). You can eithwer manually clean
your system or set it to clean the system at shutdown ot bootup.

You can use the Disk Cleanup utility in Windows XP (in Accessories -
System Tools) to cleanup these files.

Also for the Temporary Interent Files you can use Control Panel -
Internet Options - Delete Files to clean them right up. Just make
sure you also click on the checkbox for "delete all offline content".

And if you have a high speed Internet connection (cable or DSL) you
can go to the Advanced tab in the Internet Options. Scroll down to
near the bottom and select the item to "Delete temporary internet
files when browser is closed".

Good luck
