Delete permamently

I have Outlook 2000.

All day, I get my "You've Got Mail" alert, I check for mail, and discover that I
have something in my spam filter folder. I mark all as read and the alert goes
away.

At the end of the day, I look at that folder, check for false positives, select
all and delete them.

There are two problems with this.

1. I get interrupted from my work when I get Spam.
2. My deleted spam goes into my deleted messages folder, interleaved with real
messages. I want them to be gone.

I can't upgrade my Outlook until my work decides to do so.

What can I do?

What antispam software are you running? You may be able to a) specify which
folder it goes into and b) set it to mark all as read when putting items
therein.
