I bought a Compaq 3000 from Circuit City that was an "Out
of the box". It had been previously sold and then
returned in new condition with all accessories. However,
the guy who bought it, had installed the start-up
software and registered Windows. Now, I can't delete his
name from the registry. I don't think it matters, as I
have been having no trouble with anything except for one
thing: I am unable to access my e-mail from a web-based e-
mail program. It says that I have timed-out or am not
recognized. My question is this: DO you think that even
though I am the one who registered for the web-based e-
mail program, the web page itself may be looking for the
guy who bought the computer? It is his name in the
registry. Perhaps the e-mail program is trying to match
up names? It's just a shot in the dark, but is this a
possibility?
Thanks
