delete note separator line

Having trouble with footnotes when transfer seperate documents into one
document. The not seperator line appears at the top over every page.

Are these footnotes or endnotes? If the latter, make sure you paste or
insert your new file in Normal view; otherwise you risk pasting/inserting
the text in the Endnotes section, so that the entire insertion becomes part
of the endnotes. (As a test, if you can't see the added text in Normal view,
this is what has happened.)
