Delete key asks for verification

I want the delete key to delete selected text as soon as I
press it but it comes up with a message asking me to
confirm deletion. It then deletes after I click 'Y'. How
do I stop it from doing this so that I can delete in a
single action?

Tools>Options>General and uncheck the two WordPerfect features.
