Delete Emails from Inbox

is there a setting in outlook xp that i can change so
when i delete an item from the inbox it'll permanatly be
deleted and not go into the deleted items folder.

No there isn't but you can hold the Shift button down as you delete.

thanks - Is there anyway to turn off the message
about 'are you sure you want to delete thismessage' in
the registry etc

Go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > uncheck "Warn
before......blah blah"
