Delete E-mail using rules

I use Outlook 2003 and have an Imap account that the rules are not working for.
I want the rule to move messages to my inbox and delete them from the imap
folder (delete with a line through the message). The rule says it will delete
it, but it does not. It still is registered as new mail. Can anyone help

Because of the way IMAP accounts work, Outlook only deletes when you use the Edit | Purge Deleted Items command manually.
