delete, down arrow, page down keys stopped functioning

Recently, these three keys have completely stopped functioning on my Dell
Inspiron
8000 machine, running Win XP Pro SP2. It may have been after a security
update, but I'm not sure. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard
driver, and to change keyboard layout, but the problem persists. Any
suggestions on how to get these keys to work again?

Isn't the Inspiron a laptop? Changing the keyboard would be no option at
this time. Contact Dell Tech Support to give you some help. It could be many
causes for this to happen. Didn't spill any coffee on it did you? Tip it
upside
down and shake it, sometimes solves the problem.

By hooking up another keyboard to it would rule out an OS problem, after
that has been ruled out it is an OEM problem, and one that is on-topic
here.
