Delete corrupt file, stopping Offline Files from synchronising..

I'm having 2 problems as per below (I think the first problem is creating the second.

1. I have 2 documents on my C:\ (I think they were both MS Word) which have got corrupt
This is preventing me from opening them, changing them, dleleting them etc. If I try the message I get is
"Cannot delete file (filename), cnanot find the specified file." o
The first file has an extension of (.d) instead of .doc. The other one doesn't have any file extension at all.
I've tried opening the with different apps etc, or changing the filename etc, but it won't let me

2. I believe this is what is preventing me from being able to synchronise my off-line files (it worked fine previously), the error message I get is: "Unable to merge off-line changes on (Server name), on.... the Parameter is incorrect..

I would be so grateful of any suggestions, it's driving me crazy, and preventing me from backing up my files... Thanks.
