delete contents of a message before replying

When I recieve an e-mail message I delete the contents before I reply. When
I send a message to someone, they are unable to delete the message before
they reply. When they click reply, they still cannot delete the contents of
my message. What settings do i need to change? I am using Outlook 2003

they need to change setting on:
Tools>Options>E-mail Options...
on combo box "When replaying a message"
change "Include original message text" to
"Do not include original message"

It is unlikely that it is anything on your system that needs to be changed,
but more likely something on their system. ldiaz's reply might make it
easier for you to not have to delete contents but instead have it removed
automatically, but it won't affect your recipients experience.

Is your recipient running Outlook?
