Delete Block Yes(No)

If I highlight some text in Word 2000 and press delete I
get a status line message saying "Delete Block Yes(No)"
and I have to press "Y". I have no idea how it appeared
but how do I get rid of it?

Tools > options > general > uncheck the two Word Perfect options
