delete altnet from registry

O

Ozzie

I try to remove from my registry entries by altnet using
reg editor.I can not delete altnet entries which are
Altnet/Dashboard/ Settings. I can not access settings and
delete any other entries. I know that it is part of Kazaa
which I have removed completely. Is there a way to remove
this entry from registry? thanks.

Logged in as an administrator you can change permissions assigned to the
particular registry value that is not allowing you to delete it, at that
point you should be able to delete that value.

Thanks. Can you be a little bit more specific how to
change the permission value to delete, or where can I
find the information. Thanks

In regedit, or regedt32 select the key to delete by clicking on it once,
then on the drop down 'edit' menu select permissions, and then assign the
appropriate permissions. You may need to "add" a user if only the system
has permissions there, but most often you can just edit what is already
there. Depending on how many changes are necessary, you may want to do the
modification at the level above the key(s) you want to delete.

Thanks. I tried it but still I can not delete it. I tried
with user and administrative log on, and changed the
priviliges still prevents me deleting the file. I wonder
if there is another way?

I too am having exactly the same symptoms. I have tried a million and
one spyware removers, I have tried changeing my permissions for Regedit
but whatever I do I cannot access the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>ALTNET>DASHBOARD>SETTINGS folder and
seemingly therefore also cannot delete either of the two higher
directories.

Anyone with further ideas?

I am having the same problem:can't remove the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>ALTNET>DASHBOARD>SETTINGS folder

I have tried all spyware removal tools and tried to allow access using
regedit.exe
It still says access denied. I have removed kazaa but this does not solve
problem. Anyone got any ideas?
