Delegate permissions vs Calendar Sharing

When staff assign permissions to their calendars by sharing the calendar
those accounts don't show up as delegates, but when they're assigned through
Delegates they appear in both places with the appropriate security.

Is this a bug? It's becoming a problem for our staff when calendar (and
other folders) can be shared 2 different ways but only the Delegates option
displays the security settigns properly in both the folder properties and
Delegates window.

Not a bug at all: Delegate permissions are broader. They include both folder permissions (folder sharing) and Send On Behalf Of permission.

Then explain why a user who has been assigned permissions to a calendar does
not appear as a delegate to that folder, but when the same permissions are
assigned as a delegate then the permissions also appear in the calendar
sharing properties. The permissions are only connected when assigned through
the delegate option but not when assigned directly to the calender. Call it
a feature if you like, but it's retarded feature. Permissions should be
displayed in both places regardless of which way they were assigned.
