Deleating old ISP info from window's messenger

Not long ago, I had to change my ISP due to a move. When I got my new ISP, I
switched from DSL to a cable modem. Now everytime I try to excess my mail
through the messenger, the old ISP sign-in page comes up. I have found no
work around for this problem. I ran the uninstall for the ISP software, but
it always says that some files can not be deleated do to being used by some
other program. It said this with messenger being the only program active that
I'm aware of. Any sudjestions anyone?

Actually with cable you're always connected and depending on the setup, there
may be something waiting/listening/running. Reboot to Safe Mode and see if you
can get the old ISP folders/apps removed. Do not boot to Safe mode w/network
support, as a matter of fact pull the cable from the machine.

If you still have problems and you have knowledge on using the registry, you
could run a search in it on the old name and export the relative keys/hives
before deleting them, of course only after you make 100% sure you have a
reliable backup of the system. If you don't have the knowledge, delete 1 wrong
key/hive and the system is toast.
