Delayed Write

Hi,

I have just installed a new Dell PowerEdge 4600 and installed win2k SP4. I
have migrated data across and all looked fine until this morning when one
user could not save a large Excel file - he got the error delayed write
failed. His PC is running WinXP Pro SP1 and Office XP. We also have some
bespoke software that uses files with the extension .dbf and they are also
timing out ??

Any ideas please cause this is driving me crazy!! I do know there was a
problem with SMB signing in SP3 but this is fixed in SP4?

The NIC was set to be Full Duplex 100Mbps, changed it to auto and everthing
works fine !!

That's only for problems writing to a local HD, not to a network drive.
