Delayed Email Receipt and Confusing Timestamps

Recently I've missed seeing a couple important emails from my boss,
thus delaying accomplishing a time-sensitive task (and irritating her
in the process). I try to monitor my email and I do get a visual cue
when I receive one. Do emails ever get "hung up" and take a while to
appear in one's inbox? I have my personal gmail account set to
autoforward messages to my work email. Is it possible that this is
delaying work emails getting through somehow?

Also I've sent her emails, then noticed that the timestamp on her reply
is earlier than the one on my original message. As I am on the west
coast and she is on the east coast, I can't figure out why this is
happening or if it's somehow related.

If anyone has had similar experiences, I'd appreciate knowing what you
did to resolve it.

forwarding personal mail to your work account won't slow work mail to any
great degree but any number of problems could affect the timely arrival of
email, most are out of your control.

how far off is her time stamp? Outlook generally adjusts the time to display
in your time zone, but other problems may result in it not getting adjusted.
however , the most common cause for time issues is the clock, time zone or
daylight time setting is wrong on the computer, so have her verify it is
correct.
