Delayed Delivery Option - How does it work for Outlook 2002?

For Outlook 2000, when the delivery point is set to Personal Folders, the
delayed mail leaves the Outbox and goes to Sent Items, but is actually
waiting on the server to be delivered, as per PSS ID Number:196072.
But for Outlook 2002, it does not seem to work similarly - The delayed mail
leaves the Outbox and goes to Sent Items only when the scheduled time to
deliver is reached.
Is this how Outlook 2002 works? Any feedback is very much appreciated.

Thanks.
LaiYee.

It sounds like the difference between having the "Send immediately" option
selected or not.

Yes, that is how Outlook 2002 works. Because Outlook 2002 and later handle
multiple account types intermingled with Exchange accounts, and those other
server types *don't* support delayed delivery, it was necessary to change
how Exchange delayed delivery works as well. If you have a single, on-line
(i.e. not delivering to a PST) Exchange account, delayed delivery will work
as it did in Outlook 2000.
