Delay the graphic

Hi,

I have a simple problem for most I guess but not me.

I am stacking three pictures and the last has the results of a swimming race
which I need to delay on the screen for a bit longer than the rest (so it
can be read).

I cannot seem to work out how to hold it there on top for a few seconds
before I move on to the next slide. I extend the time of the whole slide but
this does not help the last graphic just comes in slowly but leaves too
quickly.

Which version of PPT?

You'll want to change the speed of the animation so it happens more quickly.
To do that, double-click the animation on the Custom Animation pane. This
opens a dialog box. Click the Timing tab and type a faster speed there. Then
press Tab so it "takes." Or just press Enter, which will close the dialog
box, too.

To keep it on the slide longer, I'd add another object (just an autoshape or
something) on the slide and add an appear animation to it. Double-click that
animation in the Custom Animation task pane and on the Timing tab, change
the Delay. Whatever time you want the third picture to be visible for is the
time you should put in the Delay box for this "dummy" object. For example,
if you need the third pix to be visible for 20 seconds, then put 20 in the
Delay box.

Finally, drag that last "dummy" object off of the edge of the slide where it
won't show in slide show view.

Thanks a million the advice on the auto shape has worked very well.

Glad to hear it. (The concept is pretty much the same for all versions, but
the specific instructions would differ a wee bit.)
