Delay in Typing, When Using Outlook eMail

I removed everything in the restricted zone and now I can have my email
format set to HTML and it works without the delay. So the action of remove
the website did make a difference. I had at least a 100 of every alphabet,
therefore over 2000 website loaded into the Restricted Zone.

Removing it using RegEdit is definitely the way to go.

The work around solution worked great. Hope there's no negative effects of
doing this.

I wouldn't call this a valid reason to delay IE7. The Restricted Sites zone
is basically only used for testing and having a few sites in there won't
noticibly affect performance.

Or you simply reset IE back to default on the Advanced tab ;-)

Adding lots of sites to the Restricted Sites zone isn't a good method to
deal with it. It's like adding all the addresses you don't want to receive
mail from in your block list. If you still want to go this way use the
much more efficient hosts file approach instead;

security update for IE sports a new anti-phishing mechanism that also
scans
the sites listed in Restricted Zones. Sadly due toOutlook'sIE dependancy
it will check it forOutlooktoo well composing new emails EVERYTIME you
type a character. I have reported the issue to Microsoft already a while
back. The current workaround is to keep the amount of sites listed in
the
Restricted Zone to a minimum.

I don't know how to get a count. I've look at the list.

Running AMD 3800+ Processor with 2 GB memory.

I keep getting a delay whenever I try to type emails. When I view

task
manager, I get 2-instances of svchost.exe, hp????.exe (my printer).
In
general, my System Idle Process is 97-98% and I have 2 GB of memory
installed. The items that are running are normal system items. I
have
the
bear minimum running in the system tray.

The delay can be a 1/4 of a second or less but it is still annoying
when
your fingers go faster and the letters than the letter appear. It
causes
lots of misspelled words.

Note: This does not happen all the time. I can't put my finger on
the
issue
as to when it happens or not. I'm still keeping a close eye ..
trying
to
figure this out.

I had the same problems when using Word 2003 as our html e-mail editor
for Office 2003
I found that Spybot (an excellent freeware program I really like) will
add a great number of sites to the restricted zone.
Uninstalling Spybot and emptying 'Restricted Zone' has resolved the
issue here. Empting the 'restricted zone' is a slow processe of select
1 site,delete,confirm, select another... So I used Regedit to empty
the 'restricted zone' by empting (or deleting) all 'ZoneMap' and
'Domains' folders'. Hopefully Microsoft will correct their editing
problem so I can use Spybot again.

Still having the problem of Outlook closing Word when I send an e-mail
(unless Word has an open document). Any help. please.

Makes sense as HTML rendering isn't being used then but is no solution to
the issue.

Restricted Zone if IE7. Although I'm not running Outlook 2007 (only 2003).
After removing the sites, I was able to switch my mail format back to HTML
and did not experience the delays.

Also, it takes forever to delete the websites. I was able to delete all of
them through the Registry:

157.238.62.14.
The only one that isn't an IP address is http://related.msn.com.

Absolutely 100% not true.

Simply go to that regkey and remove all subkeys.

If you are changing program behavior through the registry it is always best
to keep the affected applications closed.

It takes awhile deleting from the registry too, if you have as many as I
did. You can delete the entire Domains folder as I said earlier. Then copy
my earlier text (text between the "*****"). Save this text to a text file,
then change the extension of the file from .txt to .reg. Then if you double
click the file, it will automatically merge to the Registry.

or

What I did is export everything in the Domains folder to my desktop. Then I
edited the file, using Notepad, and deleted everything except what you see
(between the "****"). Either way will work. All this does is that it
allows you to delete the Domains folder and all subkeys ... all at one time.

or

Third option is to take note of what is in the Domains folder and recreate
the content, after you add that folder back in its original place.

Hope this makes sense.

Here's another possible solution that I got from another NG.
The behavior is also fixed by configuring OL to open to Outlook Today screen
instead of your inbox. This may help those using OL 2007 (not sure).

Did anyone get an answer to the delay in typing for Outlook? I have no
sites
listed in my restricted sites.

2. Configuring OL to open to Outlook Today screen instead of your inbox.

Did anyone get an answer to the delay in typing for Outlook? I have no

I initiated this post and wanted to also let everybody know that my SpyBot
ran yesterday. And now all the restricted sites came back. I had to delete
them again (using the Registry Method).

So not sure how to permanently solve this issue. I don't want to get rid of
SpyBot.. its a great tool.

Open spybot, go to the immunize section, click undo and all the
restricted sites will disappear. Use spybot to find and remove
spyware/adware but not to block against it with the immunize button.
