Defragmenting Loses Outlook?

Last night I defragmented my hard drive (which I do periodically) and this
morning, when I tried to launch MS Outlook, rather than coming up normally,
two windows appeared: "Configuring Outlook" and "Outlook 2003 Startup." Did
the defragementation process destroy my version of Outlook 2003? Have I lost
my email, calendar, and contact files? I didn't want to follow through on the
reconfiguration process in hopes that I could recover my version of Outlook
and its associated files. Any suggestions?

Bob,

You're right to now do anything. Search your drive for *.pst and back those files up there should be one file there that is pretty large depending on how much you had on it. Once you have the files backed up then you can start to trouble shoot it's. It's very hard to say what happened or if the defrag was related.
