Defrag

I was unable to defrag because it never got past 1% even after I
discativated firewall/virusscan/and I think windows update.

The defrag programme got stuck and I had to reboot. The file check came up
with a couple of problems which it truncated. One of them referred to
Windows/ prefetch/taskmgr.exe

What should I do now? So far the system seems to work ok, but something
obviously went very wrong!

I would first delete all the prefetch stuff (one way of doing it is to
search for it) and then do the defrag in safe mode (tap F8 repeatedly upon
boot-up).

Boot into safe mode and try running defrag.
