Nice but Dim

I have seen a program called Pefect Disk which I am told is a better
defragging tool than the native windows tool
Does anyone have any comments/experience with this program

Regards to all & TIA

I saw good reviews of it. I tried it and it seriously crashed my Thinkpad.
I tried a few times with the same result; I removed it.

So, results vary.

If you're running a server or are otherwise accessing your hard disk on
a continuous basis then a third party defragger is very important.
Otherwise there is no need for anything other than XP's built in
defragmenter. Don't fall for the hype.

Perfect Disk is the product that I use, and I think it's the best defragger
out there.

i use a freeware version called "o&o 2000" . it pretty good n speedy too..

I use the built in defragger. I tried most of the retail ones but have never
found one that improves XP in any practical way. Even ones that allow you to
place files in particular places on the drive have never shown any benefit
to me. I'm sure there are some who will disagree.
