defrag and task mngr not working

I try to open my task manager or disk defragmenter and they appear for just
a moment then disappear. I think it might have someting to do with SP2 but
I'm not sure...is there any way I can fix it?

More like crap ware has infected the PC.

Update your Anti Virus files and perform a full system scan

Update your spyware application or download and install SPybot Search and
Destroy [if you don't have one]. Run an update for all files and perform a
full system scan.

Make sure you perform all scan by booting into SAFE MODE. This will prevent
some of the crud from loading during boot up. Just to be safe, make sure you
reboot and run both again.

Update 1 & 2 before running a scan.
