Defrag and RAID 0

I just installed two SATA drives as RAID 0 and did a clean install of
Windows XP Professional. I then installed all my software such as Office,
Ulead Video Studio, Diskkeeper 8, etc. When I run a disk analysis using
Diskkeeper 8 it shows my drive as heavily fragmented. Why is my C drive
showing as heavily fragmented when I just did a clean install of everything?
Can I use a standard defrag program on a RAID 0 drive?

a) the extreme fragmentation after an install is quite normal, imo

b) re raid - I should think so but don't know for sure.

Yes, it is quite normal. Base on our experience, the system volume is
usually heavily fragmented after the installation.

We should be able to defrag RAID 0 because mirroring is handled by the RAID
controller so Windows treats it as just one drive. I've heard that some
users did so although I could not find any public article saying that.

Charlie,

Fragmentation just happens :)

ANY defragmenter (including the built-in defragmenter) can be run on any
type of RAID without any issues.
