Definition Updates

When updating spyware def's Norton poped up opposite
GIANT software. I allowed access but then anti-spyware
locks up "not responding" and will not download updated
definitions. Have sent on details to MS but nothing yet.

Looks like I will have to un-install and get the flaky
software off my machine!

Hello Bobbi,

I think you must ask Norton about this because it could be a false
positive, but there are a few Trojans/worms that realy are cornected
with Giant Anti Spyware, see here:

But I think it is a fals positive from Norton.

So Norton is the blame.

What you need to do is:

1. Temporarily disable Norton Firewall;
2. Temporarily enable Windows XP Firewall;
3. Open Norton Firewall and click on Personal Firewall,
then click on Configure and click on Programs;
4. In Programs click on Add and you will be shown all
your computer exe files;
5. Double-click on giantspyware.exe or
microsoftantispyware.exe and allow for "permit all"
connections;
6. Then "okay" your way out and close Norton Firewall;
7. Reenable it;
8. Then disable your Windows XP Firewall.
