defender's "msmpeng" versus symantec

hello,

is there already some news about the interaction between the msmpeng console
from defender and the symantec resource protector ?

For the moment the interaction is still going on in my logs...

Will it be solved in a new build , and can you tell me maybe when to expect
that....

Information now would be indeed really appreciated!
Soon it will be the moment to renew the subscription of my Norton Antivirus
2005.
I am a Norton AV consumer satisfied from 1998, but this conflict, if won't
be resolved, could make me different choices.

none i think ( and i hope) , only the logs , up to 50 times a day..., but
maybe there are other conflicts under the surface... , the only thing i can
say is that 50 times a day the msmpeng console is trying to brake in to
symantec and the symantec resource protection is stopping this , and i think
every time system resources are used to do so....

i have passed my log to bill sanderson , i think you recieved it ?(some
weeks ago )

I don't really understand.
With the old MS antispyware beta 1 there were not any problem of
compatibility with "Symantec resource protector", and the program was
recognized from all as very effective.
Now, with Defender beta 2, from months it speaks of this issue on this
Newsgroup, but it still seems that Microsoft has not faced it, and, still
less, resolved!

Hello,
The conflict with Symantec files would have been over if File Exclusion
feature of Windows Defender functioned as intended; but it doesn't. I placed
all Norton Internet Security and Symantec files in the file exclusion pane
but Defender simply ignored this and kept on trying to access Norton files,
which was stopped.

still same question , is microsoft still investigating ? , and with results
soon to come i hope ? maybe in cooperation with symantec if thats possible

I have made some attempts:
If in Windows Defender, under Tools/Options/Real-time Protection Options, it
is unchecked the "Application Execution" module (only), nothing appears
anymore in the Log of "Symantec resource protector".
I hope that this helps you for resolving the ISSUE!
