defender real-time protection

many of the problems are caused by the real-time protection , the msmpeng
console .
I interacts with symantec norton 2006 resource protector
and also causes the many restore points created.

i'm using defender now with the real-time protection off and as a on demand
scanner every day and all my problems are gone....

only my protection is lesser now ....

I think microsoft has a lot of work to do at the real time protection
feature....

and yes i'm using the latest build , engine and def.

Have you tried turning off the Symantec Norton 2006 Resource Protector to see
if the problems go away after that?

Sounds to me like it may be a conflict between these two causing all your
symptoms. At least proving that would give the Antimalware Team something to
investigate.

A bit of advice: I have Norton System Works 2005 Premier on one of my
computers. I do not use WD on that computer. My personal observations are
that Norton is invasive and has caused problems with other software
(Creative sound audio). Their tech support sucks when it comes to software
conflict resolution and the average user does not stand a chance. It takes
months to get a fix.
I strongly urge Microsoft to interact with Symantec.

yes i know you can turn off either defenders real-time protection or symantec
resource protectrion to fix this.

i think it if saffest to turn off realtime defender and not symantecs
protection , because otherwise a virus can turn of youre virusprotection....

and microsoft is indeed investigating , but its taken to long without news...
