Defender does not update

I have updated Defender till Definition Update 1.14.1361.6 for BETA Windows
Defender (KB915597)
during Microsoft update, or at least I guessed it !!!
However product remains with the first original signature, inspite of many
updates.
Icon at taks bar indicates a exclamation point and remains like that after
installation.
Everytime I go to Windows Update, Defender is there again and again, saying
I have downloaded it and needs to be installed.
Useless try to install. Does not work.
Where is the update file ?
Does it happen with anyone ?
How can I solve it, please??

Try this workaround:

1. Remove the current signature file. To do this, click Start, click Run, type
Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}
and then click OK.
2. Open Windows Defender. To do this, click Start, click Programs,
and then click Windows Defender.
3. Check for new definitions. To do this, click the Help options arrow next
to the Windows Defender Help icon, click About Windows Defender, and
then click Check for Updates.

I have tried everything inluding what Carey Frisch says below (to erase
the signature file and then update) and nothing works. I get the same
message that it cannot update and the code 0x8022402c.
Lets face it they just put out a product in beta that sucks!!!!
