Windows Defender Update

I have Windows Defender of following specification:

Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1593.0
Engine Version: 1.1.2405.0
Definitions Version: 1.17.2437.5
Product ID: 81664-341-5144304-04656

Now, from today I'm getting the following error code while manually
attempting (it's on automatic update) to update the program.

Error Code: 0x80004002

What's this error code and how can I resolve this situation to continue to
get automatic updates for the Defender.

Hello,
Infortunately i have similar problem, my windows defender desactiveted
suddently and i can't access the update definition to reactivate its
fonctions...
(Running recent bussiness version of vista)

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to
WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\Install
Right click mpas-d.exe, choose Properties, Version.
Uner Item Name:, click FileVersion.
The latest version is 1.17.2450.6
If that's NOT the case, download the latest definition file for WD from
here:
http://au.download.windowsupdate.co..._04784a153783db61b524b89496db04679fc57339.exe

Save it to the Desktop. When the download is complete, run
mpas-d_04784a153783db61b524b89496db04679fc57339.exe

Did that get the defs installed ?
