defective shortcut

On a network drive, I have a short folder which is defective. It has a sufix
of .doc and it does not allow me to move it, delete it, rename it, or do
anything with it. When I try to delete it, it says "cannot delete file:
cannot read from the source file or disk" It's driving me crazy because it
does not allow me to back up the overarching file and all of its docs. The
backup freezes when it gets to this shortcut.

How do I get rid of the terrible little shortcut??

thanks

Go to MVP Kelly Theriot's website here:

Click on "D" and scroll down to the Delete section. You'll find quite a
few things to try.
