Default Sending Option Changes

Hi

I am using an exchange server to hold all email accounts and messages but
each PC/Outlook client also has a pop3 account setup which send and receives
the mail for the client. It is then stored in the exchange mailbox.

This all works fine but sometimes outlook overrides the defualt setting and
tries to send the message via exchange. As exchange has no internet access
the message just sits in the queue and retries. The user then eventually gets
an undeliverable message back.

If the user remembers to check the "accounts tab" when preparing an email
they can change the sending accoutn form exchange to pop3.

I do not understand why the default is overridden.

Thanks

Are these newly created messages or replies/forwards. Outlook
replies/forwards by using the account the message was received with

Just curious; any specific reason for this complicated configuration? It
kind of defeats the purpose of having an Exchange server.
