In Windows Explorer, when I send a file (Send To>Mail Recipient) the
default message format is PLAIN TEXT (with the standard text "The
message is ready to be sent with the following file or link
attachments:...." on the first line). How could I set it to the HTML
default message format? Note that my default message format in Outlook
is HTML (Outlook>New Message).

You can't.

Isn't that a typical MS weird thing again....

And please explain to me why there are 2 different HTML email formats
in Outlook 2003. When I create a new message in Outlook ("New Message")
I get a typical Word document format (With Word Styles etc), while when
in Windows Explorer I right-click on a file and select Send To>Mail
Recipient, and change the format of the resulting message to HTML, I
get a HTML message with typical Web Page styles like Normal, Formatted,
Paragraph etc...

When you create a new message from within Outlook, you have it set to launch
Word as your mail editor. The Send To>Mail Recipient path, however, starts
the Outlook editor, not Word. That's wht you see two different compose
windows.

thanks. Clear. Though strange that one cannot set the Word HTML as the
standard for ALL emails, incl Send To>Mail..... Another example of the
(lack of) consistency in the MS Office Suite.
