Default operating system

I unchecked the "Time to display list of operating
systems:" box under the Startup and Recovery|System
startup category. Now that computer does not boot as it
is looking for a system disc. How can I make it boot to
windows XP again without losing anything?

Operating system Windows XP Pro fully patched.

Hi John,

That shouldn't have been a problem, but at this juncture you should run
fixboot from a command prompt via the Recovery Console:
