default language settings

Any help would be appreciated!

My word documents all open with Welsh as the default language. I have gone
via the "language" route under tools; I have clicked default as well. I have
also gone via Microsoft Office Tools in "language settings" and deleted Welsh
from the list of options, leaving only English (UK).

However, whenever I open a new document, it STILL defaults to Welsh. Anyone
know what I'm missing?

The language needs to be correct in Normal.dot and in the Windows settings.
