Default font change

When I am typing and use a hard return, the font often changes from my defult
font Arial to Courier
 
Is the style changing? When you press Enter after a heading, the following
style is Normal. Have you actually changed the default font?

I think "Courier" is your default font not "Arial". You can check this by
closing all documents and open a new one. See the font selected by default in
Font pane. Is it courier. You can change your default font through - Format -
Font - choose a Font and click the Default button.
