I installed MS Office 97 pro on my Vista Home Premium machine. I also
uninstalled it. Now Windows Mail no longer appears on the list of default
programs and I'd like to set it as the default. Any suggestions greatly
appreciated.

Download and apply mailclients.reg file from here:
http://www.winhelponline.com/fixes/mailclients.reg

Save the file to desktop, right-click on the downloaded file and choose "Merge". Check if the Windows Mail option is restored to the Default Programs listing.

Note: REG files are plain text files, and can be viewed using Notepad or any other text editor.

Ramesh. I can't thank you sufficiently. This fixed it in seconds. I spend
days on it.
Thank you again
