default email program

Under Internet Options, programs, I have set the email
program to be Netscape Mail. But when I click on an email
link on a webpage that I am viewing with IE6, it takes me
to outlook express. When I view the same webpage with
netscape browser, the same email link takes me to netscape
mail. Why does IE6 ignore my setting and insist on using
outlook express? Thanks, John

Hi John,

Have you checked the following registry key?

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command

What does the (default) value read, in the right-pane?

Netscape uses a preference file and does not honor the mailto: setting, just FYI.
