Default Admin Password

My installed an upgrade from Win98 to win2000 on my new
machine. When it came to the screen with entering a
password for the administrator account I hit next too
quickly. I remember seeing asterisks in the dialog box,
but I did not enter anything. I have tried logging in
with my old information but it isn't working. Isn't the
default Administrator password just blank? Why doesn't a
blank password work? Is there a different default
password for Win2000?

There is no default password for Win2000. I would not expect your old
Windows 98 IDs and passwords to work in Windows 2000 either. AFAIK, the
password is set by you during installation time.

You could try using one of the free password reset utilities here, from the
FAQ:
